The sun is shining in Vancouver (for once!) so here are the latest and greatest stories in social media from the past week.

  • AP Stylebook has added 42 new guidelines for social media, including “Web site” now becoming “website” – via Mashable.
  • According to comScore, via WebProNews mobile social networking has grown 240 per cent over the past year.
  • AdWeek has details of a Harris poll saying 34 per cent of adults have used social media “to rant or rave about a company, brand or product” and 38 per cent “aim to influence others when [they] express preferences online.”
  • Finally, Drexel University digital media students have developed a system, including language filtering, to project Twitter messages onto the side of a campus building.
